Many of the descriptions are repeated from other chapters.

1The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice. 2Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. 3Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side. 4His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles. 5The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth. 6The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. | The earth itself praises the Lord. Very sharp imagery is shown here. Most notable of these is v.6. This shows that creation is a proof of the Lord's glory. All the peoples see this glory. This is also seen in Romans 1:20, "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." | Creation is a proof of the Creator and His glory.
7All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols— worship him, all you gods! | This is very interesting. Those who worship images and idols will be put to shame. Now I still don't have a clear definition of worship, but I think that the way Roman Catholics (at least here in our country) treat their statues of saints is considered worship. The psalmist goes on and commands the gods and idols to worship the True God.
8Zion hears and rejoices and the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments, O Lord. 9For you, O Lord, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. | Zion and Judah rejoice. I don't understand this, what could they possibly symbolize in the old times? I think Zion is considered as God's mountain because it is where Moses received the 10 commandments. Judah was chosen and separated from the other tribes. It is still not very clear to me
10Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. 11Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. 12Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name. | v.10 tells us that those who love the Lord should hate evil. Then he continues to say that the reason for this is God protects the faithful, righteous, and upright. | The Lord will deliver Christians from the and of the wicked. The Lord gives joy to the upright in heart. | Christians should hate evil. Christians should rejoice in the Lord and praise his holy name. |
Feel free to correct me if there is anything wrong in my understanding of the Bible. I am not a Bible scholar or anything, I'm just studying the Word of God.
